Laser Printer Toner
Whenever you use a laser printer to print off a document from your computer you will be using a form of ink to print the words and images. This kind of ink is still often referred to as laser printer toner ink. This ink sits inside specially designed printer cartridges which store it until a print run starts after which point they get the ink on to the paper. A specialist process then causes the ink to migrate to the paper to produce the finished results.
Many modern day home laser printers will use ready made cartridges to hold their ink. These simply come ready filled and can be slotted into the printer ready to use. But, when the cartridges run out of ink they need to be discarded and replaced completely. Laser printer toner systems may work as an alternative.
Here, the laser printer toner is refilled into a permanently based cartridge rather than changing the cartridge every time. This can work out to be more cost effective (and more environmentally friendly) than replacing the cartridge from scratch every time. This is also becoming a popular way for people to top up their inks in a home computer printer.
In the past this was often a route used by businesses that owned a lot of printers. This often worked out to be a cheaper solution for them especially when compared with the costs of having to buy new laser printer cartridges all of the time. Many businesses put their printers through a lot of work and consequently use up a lot of ink so laser toner often worked out to be a good alternative.
Most laser printer toner kits will come with all the bits and pieces that you need to refill your cartridges with toner. This can be a bit of a messy job although it isn’t technically hard to do. If you buy an ink replacement kit, you will usually be given full instructions on what to do.
The fact is that your laser printer ink cartridge may run out of ink fairly regularly depending on how often you use it. But, the fact that the cartridge is empty doesn’t mean that it needs to be thrown away. If you can refill it with laser printer toner instead then it will work again. It is a lack of ink that is the issue here and not the print cartridge itself in the vast majority of cases.
